5 Stars Love the 30 Day Biggest Loser Jump Start!
I watch the show so I had to give it a try. The recipies are easy and taste surprisingly good! Honestly I do feel so much healthier! I’ve lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks!
4 Stars Very inspirational, great starting point
I love that this book gives you a day by day plan for what to eat and what exercise to do. But I’ll also agree with the reader that some of the things aren’t practical (like the 12 servings of chili and only needing 1). I’m about to start week 1 tomorrow, and what I’ve done is set up my week making some adjustments as needed. I don’t drink milk, so I added a fat-free yogurt in place of the milks. I swapped out some meals with other days, like having grilled chicken with asparagus and grape tomatoes (couldn’t find cherry tomatoes) for dinner 2 days in a row so that I use up the veggies before they go bad. I’m also using the multigrain sandwich thins that I already have in place of the multigrain english muffins, multigrain bagels and multigrain wraps. Same basic nutritional information, much more convenient and less expensive for me.
True I’m not following the program to the letter of the law, but I’m only making minor adjustments and I still think that I’ll get the results I want. This is the first time I’ve found a program that looked like I could follow it, so I’m excited to give it a try.
And just as an aside, I found almost all of my fruits and veggies at the local asian market for a fraction of the price of the regular grocery store.
2 Stars not what I expected
Nothing against the contestants on Biggest Loser, but I was expecting recipes and menus from “experts”. I read the book almost cover to cover and then put it in my give away pile. I didn’t even offer to share it with someone else. very disappointed. oh well!
4 Stars Great ideas if you have the time
This book is great for recipes, ideas and content. However, if you are a busy working mom like me, you usually don’t have all those groceries normally stocked and it takes quite a bit of time to prepare all your meals for the day if you follow the meal plan word for word. I think it is awesome for your very first stab at a healthy lifestyle. If you have been at it for a while, it is a really great ‘idea’ book for new fresh foods and recipes. Overall it is a great book if you are just starting out or just want some new ideas.
3 Stars Nice layout-helpful day to day guide.
Quick read. Day to day guide on menu and exercise. some of the food items weren’t normal grocery store items.

3 Stars maybe to old?
Love the video but had a hard time dancing with cheryl…she’s way to fast… max is a little slower and i could follow along without any problem.I’m in shape but always looking for a new way to stay that way-I’m a young 54 but i think this video is not for all ages -They need to address this issue.
3 Stars If your looking for cardio-choose another DVD…
I am a huge ZUMBA fan and had to drop my membership at the Y. I was looking for something w/hardcore cardio. The “dance” part of the dvd is way more instructional than movement all at one time. I like my HR to be about 145..highest I got was 122..in the “toning” section. All in all, it’s just okay. Still looking for the “one” that makes me feel energized!!!
3 Stars Lacking
It wasn’t what I had hoped, the energy level was low. The music was quiet and the instructors lacked energy- almost seeming unprofessional. “Now I’m tired, so here’s Maksim.” What??
As mentioned there was alot of stepping from side to side, not enough to get my heartrate going. It was fun to learn the steps, but not hard enough work to qualify as even a rest-day workout for me.
4 Stars glad I bought it
This was harder then I thought it would be, but fun. They do a really good job of teaching the steps.
5 Stars excellent!!!!!
I bought this one after buying the cardio dance because I enjoyed that one so much. It is fun to do and will definitely help you get your cardio on. I love it!!!!!

4 Stars Womens Health
Received subscription within 4 weeks of purchase. I wish this magazine was published in a larger print, like other magazine I read. Its small font is difficult to read.
4 Stars RODALE - SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE- VERY POOR

5 Stars Life Changing Book
This book literally changed the way I look at my diet and health. The facts are startling. It’s great to finally find real information about what we eat and how it affects us, without that information coming from a new “diet guru.” Seems like everyone wants to tell you how and what to eat but they have a financial interest invested. This book is based on facts, clinical studies, and real people. Once you read it you’ll never look at food the same way again.
4 Stars Life Changing
For years, I have been a meat eater’s meat eater. This book really opened my eyes and got me reading a lot about the link between animal based protiens and disease (heart disease, cancer, etc.). As a result of the information from this book and a number that followed, I have recently become vegan and have halved my cholesterol in just over a month.
I thought I knew something about nutrition. I was wrong and would have been DEAD wrong if i continued my previous lifestyle. Read this book!
5 Stars A must read book for everyone
This is a must read book for anyone concerned with their health. The very latest research that has been covered up by “Big Medicine”. It will change the way you look at food and change your health for the better. I highly recommend it. Easy to read..
3 Stars Informative, but Extremely Biased
This book is an informative read that has helped encourage me to move towards healthier eating due to it’s strong arguments and research-based advice. The problem is simple: The author wants you to be vegan. I have no problem with vegan or vegetarian lifestyles. On average, I am a vegetarian six or seven days a week (I rarely eat meat, whereas I used to eat meat daily). So I am not taking issue with the idea of veganism or vegetarianism. They are personal choices and I support anyone who chooses such a diet (or who chooses to not have such a diet). So what’s my problem?
Simply, this book demands near veganism. Despite the evidence saying that those who primarily eat fish live the longest, Campbell still encourages veganism, *not* fished-based diets. I hate fish and I am allergic to many kinds of seafood, so it’s not even an option for me. Campbell begrudgingly allows the suggestion that eating some fish is okay, but that you shouldn’t have it often… and that if you can live without fish, you absolutely should (despite Campbell pointing out that people who eat fish-based diets live the longest–where is the logic?).
The evidence is clear that meat-based diets are not healthy and meat eaters have the highest mortality rates (and cancer rates and coronary heart disease rates). But I find it hard to follow the advice of someone who so clearly wants me to be a vegan. If Campbell wanted the reader to cut back on meat as much as possible, that’s fine. But to completely remove it from the diet is a drastic measure that is not supported by fact. The group of people who live the second longest includes vegetarians and “flexitarians” (people who eat meat occasionally). Vegans live even less time (although still more than meat eaters).
It is absolutely puzzling to me how Campbell can recommend veganism despite the fact that his own book rates vegans as the second-highest mortality rate.
I have trashed the main position of the book quite a bit, but there is still a lot of useful information on nutrition and scientific reductionism to be found within it. But as a book, it’s hard to read when the author clearly has a bias based on personal values, not facts.
5 Stars The China Study
This book is very convincing. It has changed my life in the way I feel, look, and anticipate my future.

4 Stars Good informative reading
The only problem is that when you subscribe, they start off your subscription with old issues. Make sure that you have not purchased any recent issue or you will reading them again.
1 Star Only somewhat useful but very annoying
I have twice subscribed to Men’s Health and both times was disappointed. You really only ever need two issues of this repetitive journal of contradictory advice and mediocre fitness strategies. Real information is offered up sparingly and is often incomplete. There is however, an abundance of absurd success stories of people who are either so young that they can easily achieve their fitness goals or have so much time that they have no excuse not not be in shape.
There is little that applies to anyone over thirty who have actual jobs and need to live real lives.
Furthermore, they slip additional book offers and subscriptions in with your contract. You can easily spend 5 to 6 times the subscription price per year if you don’t stay on top of the junk that hey send you. Honestly, one of the worst magazines in terms of all the additional crap that they send to you.
5 Stars Review
Would have liked to receive confirmation in the mail that the subscription had been made and the person would receive it pending on processing time. But the first magazines were delivered much faster than the website had listed. Would order again.
1 Star Liberal
Obama and Democratic party hacks!!! I thought I was getting a honest health magazine, not another Liberal Obama loving mag. I will not renew my sub. I just wish that these publishers would keep their personal politics out of everything they do. They just can;t help themselves. The media are just insane with this Obama worship so I say NO to menshealth. Shame, you had an opportunity for a interesting magazine, but you had to shove your Obama down my throat. Not anymore!!!!
1 Star sneaky
I was a subscriber for several years and have terminated my subscription due to the november obama lovefest. I didn’t think it was neccesary to endorse a political figure in a magazine devoted to health and fitness especially one that was a drug user and smoker. Then one day a package of books arrived in the mail for a free trial that I did not order. I had 21 days to preview and return if I did not want them. Cost me $$$ and time to return. Not happy.

5 Stars Good Addition For Me
When I picked up a couple of home workout DVDs I picked this up to give it a try and like this one since it is helping me develop some strength. Still not able to do all the routines with weights and bands (the more challenging level), but improving.
The basics section is good in getting the moves down for me and I am starting to feel a bit more coordinated when doing them. Good practice to alternate with my more cardio days. Doing this about 2-3 days a week and cardio the other 3-4. Has been a good blend for me.
4 Stars Great for Yoga Beginners
I am new to yoga and really enjoy doing this DVD. I really liked that for a beginner DVD, it is still challenging that you aren’t bored.
1 Star Don’t Waste your Money
This was not my first Yoga DVD, but I so LOVED the 10 minute solution by Lara Hudson, that I thought this might be a nice compliment. The scenery is rather beautiful, but that’s about the extent of my pleasant comments. I was bored to tears with this one. The 20 minute fundamental segment consisted of about 15 minutes in the downward dog position, describing in exhaustive detail each particular aspect of it. I was hoping to move a little more, and go over other fundamental positions. I wish I could return this tape, but I’m left with re-selling it in the marketplace. Keep looking.
5 Stars Good yoga workout
The routines on this DVD aren’t complicated. Very straight forward and well instructed. Sun Salutation takes you through using every muscle group, works strength, balance and flexibility. It’s an all-around great yoga practice.
Adding in the hand weights or the resistance band gives you more challenge for balance, stretches you just a bit further and adds more strength and toning benefits. Overall this is a solid yoga program to add any fitness routine.
5 Stars Great for toning and flexibility
I recently lost a bunch of weight and wanted to get a yoga video that was a little more active. I got this one based on the description and some reviews. Glad I got it. Sun Salutation is really good to get you moving and its something that anyone can do. Modify if you have to. My favorite routines are the ones with the exercise bands. Fantastic. All the benefits of yoga with some extra toning.
