I received a free yearly subscription after enjoying Stonyfield Farms yogurt. I found absolutely no content worthy of reading. 75% of the tiny magazine was ads for medications, which I live a much more natural lifestyle than that. This magazine was not for me. I’ll stick to my Women’s Health Magazine!
5 Stars Prevention Magazine is very informative and useful
I thoroughly enjoy this magazine. It has so many articles pertaining to health issues and healthier living. Articles about daily living, and stories about people who have had lifestyle changes. All aspects of health are covered in this magazine. It discusses medications, vitamins, sleep issues, diet and exercise. Plus, it is a handy size to slip into my purse, so I take it with me and can read it when I am waiting for an appointment or just have a few minutes.
5 Stars Prevention Magazine
Purchased this from AMAZON.COM on sale for 5 bucks for 1 yr. I enjoy this magazine because it reads sort of like Readers Digest example: short Concise articles and it is the same compact size as readers digest. I will renew this subscription again.
5 Stars Very Good!!
This is a very good magazine, where you can find
all kinds of good information about heath and
delicious recipes that you will enjoy!!
1 Star WATCH OUT! YOU CAN BECOME THE VICTIM OF A SCAM BY RODALE IF YOU DON”T RESUBSCRIBE!!!
Think you want to subscribe to Prevention Magazine? Think again. The Rodale Corporation (Rodale, Inc.), which publishes this magazine and others, uses a scam to squeeze money out of unsuspecting consumers who have subscribed to their magazines and then decided not to renew the subscription. After several attempts to send you renewal invoices and other scare tactics, you’ll receive a collection notice from the North Shore Collection Agency demanding money and raising the threat of debt delinquency. For most of us, this translates into a tarnished credit report.
Please let your friends, family, co-workers, and other people in your life know about this deceptive scare tactic to fleece money from folks. The North Shore Agency is the subject of lawsuits and under investigation by Attorneys General in various states. To learn more, Google North Shore Agency and magazine subscriptions. You’ll learn about this rip-off. Stay informed and be aware of all the other magazines Rodale publishes.
Maybe Amazon will look into this shady practice on behalf of its customers…..

4 Stars Good informative reading
The only problem is that when you subscribe, they start off your subscription with old issues. Make sure that you have not purchased any recent issue or you will reading them again.
1 Star Only somewhat useful but very annoying
I have twice subscribed to Men’s Health and both times was disappointed. You really only ever need two issues of this repetitive journal of contradictory advice and mediocre fitness strategies. Real information is offered up sparingly and is often incomplete. There is however, an abundance of absurd success stories of people who are either so young that they can easily achieve their fitness goals or have so much time that they have no excuse not not be in shape.
There is little that applies to anyone over thirty who have actual jobs and need to live real lives.
Furthermore, they slip additional book offers and subscriptions in with your contract. You can easily spend 5 to 6 times the subscription price per year if you don’t stay on top of the junk that hey send you. Honestly, one of the worst magazines in terms of all the additional crap that they send to you.
5 Stars Review
Would have liked to receive confirmation in the mail that the subscription had been made and the person would receive it pending on processing time. But the first magazines were delivered much faster than the website had listed. Would order again.
1 Star Liberal
Obama and Democratic party hacks!!! I thought I was getting a honest health magazine, not another Liberal Obama loving mag. I will not renew my sub. I just wish that these publishers would keep their personal politics out of everything they do. They just can;t help themselves. The media are just insane with this Obama worship so I say NO to menshealth. Shame, you had an opportunity for a interesting magazine, but you had to shove your Obama down my throat. Not anymore!!!!
1 Star sneaky
I was a subscriber for several years and have terminated my subscription due to the november obama lovefest. I didn’t think it was neccesary to endorse a political figure in a magazine devoted to health and fitness especially one that was a drug user and smoker. Then one day a package of books arrived in the mail for a free trial that I did not order. I had 21 days to preview and return if I did not want them. Cost me $$$ and time to return. Not happy.

User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars Great!
I love the magazine, and I got it in a very timely manner. Woot woot!
5 Stars Fitness (2 Year Subscription)
I received the first issue of my 2 year subscription of Fitness Magazine 2 months before the anticipated arrival date. I am very pleased with the timeliness of the order and also the quality of the product.
4 Stars Some good, some not-so-good
Fitness magazine is aimed at women who are interested in living a healthy life. Yes, some of it is a bit “fluffy” - like listing reasons to exercise. They also mix in practical advice - how to exercise to get a flatter stomach, to get stronger legs.
There are interviews with inspiring women of all ages, letting you learn what their tricks to stay motivated and active are. There are healthy recipes so that you can always jazz your menu up with something new and delicious.
On the downside, some articles seem fluffy to the point of incorrect.. In a recent issue they have an article picking on various diets including vegetarian, vegan and low carb. Talk about a way to not make friends!
Apparently vegetarians are “weakening their immune system”, and vegans are depressed. The article makes giant assumptions that everybody one one of these diets is doing it incredibly poorly and is therefore suffering from a variety of nutrition-related maladies.
Along the same lines, the article claims low carb “doesn’t provide enough fiber” - when really low carb is about cutting out SUGAR. There’s no fiber in sugar!! Low carb is about eating a lot of broccoli and fiber-rich vegetables - most people on low carb eat far more veggies than people on a “typical American menu”. The article’s “fix”? “Eat good-for-you carbs”. Isn’t that exactly what low carb is? Eating the good carbs - avoiding the sugary carbs?
It was frustrating reading good “here is how to exercise to do X” articles alongside “vegetarians aren’t getting enough key nutrients - such as iron, which afects energy levels and the ability to think clearly.”
I found the inclusion of numerous fashion articles a bit suspect. I don’t want or need a healthy fitness magazine to tell me which jeans to buy. I also wondered why a magazine which promoted healthy body image and living would include a promotion (an article, not an ad) for a $90 eye cream. I’m not sure most of us would find that either in our price range or a worthwhile expenditure of cash.
In the end, there really aren’t that many options out there for a woman who wants to stay in shape. I would get this for its new exercise ideas and to scan the recipes - but take any other content with a grain of salt.
5 Stars Fitness….
A very good tool in using the examples they have in exercising. A magazine that can keep you motivated with lots of tips. I really enjoy reading this magazine every month. I don’t really care for the bikini clad women on the front but I can’t have everything!
2 Stars used to be
This magazine used to be better like 10 years ago. It had better weightloss success stories. Now its just small boring sentences. What happened Fitness?
